TAPA EMEA Berlin
Wednesday 27 March 2019, 09:00 - Thursday 28 March 2019, 14:00
Welcome
TAPA EMEA’s opening conference of 2019 in Berlin is set to be the biggest event in the Association’s 21-year history.
The main theme of the conference on 27 & 28 March will look at why Public Private Partnerships are the key to data gathering and risk intelligence, and how closer cooperation can lead to greater cargo crime prevention in Europe and across the wider EMEA region.
Delegates in Berlin will learn more about how TAPA EMEA is working closely with Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) partners to improve supply chain security, and the event is expected to attract a larger-than-usual presence from police forces and law enforcement organisations from across the region. The conference agenda will offer LEAs the opportunity to share their current cargo crime prevention initiatives as well as the challenges they face on a national and Europe-wide level, and the support they need from industry.
This will also include an update on the new Project CARGO initiative, an EU-financed project led by the German State Office of Investigation of Saxony-Anhalt targeting mobile organised crime groups specialising in cargo theft. TAPA EMEA is the first industry association to be invited to participate in Project CARGO, working alongside law enforcement investigators from EU Member States - Germany, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark and Austria – as well as specialists from Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, and Eurojust, the EU agency dealing with judicial co-operation in criminal matters among agencies of the Member States.
The conference will provide a forum for discussion that incorporates the views of industry and law enforcement, and aims to identify how we can work more closely together to support our shared goal of minimising cargo losses and bringing those responsible for cargo thefts to justice.
Delegates can also look forward to more insight into the latest cyber threats to supply chains as well as new cyber security solutions, and TAPA EMEA will also present the next step in its TAPA 2020 development strategy, including how its industry-leading Security Standards will support the security of members’ supply chains in the future.
The Berlin conference will also include the TAPA EMEA Annual General Meeting.
More information on the conference topics, speakers and panellists will be published on the website in the build-up to the event.
Make sure you join us in Berlin for our first learning, information-sharing and networking event of 2019 – please register now to be sure of your place at the conference.

Charity
The Laughing Hearts e.V. is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to aid the disadvantaged children of Berlin. In May 2009, Berlin-based businessmen came together and, true to the motto "Good boys do good", decided to utilise their resources and actively support Berlin´s institutionalised youth. To this day, they fight successfully to ensure productive places in our society for the children.
At present, we support 22 grouphomes in Berlin and through that over 2200 children and adolescents. Thanks to close cooperation with our patrons and the institutions in Berlin, we´re able to offer our assistance where it´s most desperately needed. In this, the children and adolescents have the possibility to grow and gain both professional and social perspective.
